Terms of service

These terms apply while you use ConCost. The product is in beta and currently free — we will give notice before anything here changes materially.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

1. The service

ConCost is a web application for construction quantity takeoff and cost estimating. You upload drawings, measure on a calibrated canvas, generate bills of quantities, and export estimates. OCR suggests labels from drawing text — you confirm each suggestion; nothing is applied automatically.

We may add, change, or remove features during the beta. We will try to give reasonable notice before changes that affect how you export or access your data.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the product beyond the public demo. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Information you provide at registration must be accurate. One person or organisation should not share a single login across unrelated parties without our agreement.

3. Your content and drawings

You retain ownership of the drawings, takeoffs, BOQs, and estimates you create. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content only so we can run the service — including format conversion (for example DWG → viewable drawing) and queued OCR jobs.

Upload only drawings and files you have the right to use. Do not upload content that infringes someone else's copyright or contains unlawful material.

4. Estimates and professional judgement

ConCost helps you measure and price work — it does not replace professional judgement. You are responsible for verifying scales, quantities, rates, and exported bids before they are sent to clients or used on site.

Sample demo data and default rate masters are illustrative. Your live projects use the rates and norms you configure.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Do not use the service to store or transmit malware or unrelated bulk data.
  • Do not scrape or automate access in a way that harms other users or our infrastructure.
  • Do not misrepresent ConCost outputs as guaranteed or certified quantities.

6. Beta and availability

The service is offered on a best-effort basis during beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime. Maintenance, updates, or incidents may temporarily limit access.

Paid plans may be introduced later. If that happens, we will publish updated pricing and terms and give existing users notice before charging them.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or pose a security risk. Where practical, we will give you a chance to export your BOQs and estimates before closure.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ConCost is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including lost bids, rework, or site costs. Our total liability for any claim relating to the beta service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which is zero while the beta remains free.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
